On June 16-17, 2016, in Georgia, at the MSON regular annual meeting the Consultative Commission to Confront Propaganda was formed. Its primary mission is to consider the complaints on interethnic propaganda, propaganda of war and hatred in the media and issue opinions on them.
On June 17, 2016, two documents were signed:
Regulation on Consultative Commission to Confront Propaganda.
The Consultative Commission is composed of the representatives of seven national self-regulation bodies:
- Media Ethics Observatory (Armenia)
- Azerbaijan Press Council
- Commission on Ethics of Belarusian Association of Journalists
- Georgian Charter of Journalistic Ethics
- Press Council of the Republic of Moldova
- Public Collegium for Press Complaints (Russia)
- Commission on Journalistic Ethics (Ukraine)
